return to Movement Analysis

list of possible extensions/research:

  • test if h_MTD can be a good recommendation in general, i.e. test with non-grizzly datasets
  • look into inference from individual to groups and populations (see Otis and White 1999)
  • look into analysis tools that consider 2 individuals, i.e. to evaluate their temporary relationships (e.g. distances)
  • investigate if it makes sense to remove points/HR parts based on distance to "activity centers" (assumes convex HR).. this was suggested for buffer approach by one of the reviewers (and derives from the modified MCP).
  • extend Asymptote tool with sub-sampling and resulting sample set evaluations on HR estimation.
  • home range classification: core area vs. edge: the edge with in Voigt et al (2007) is fairly static, whereas the edge width from calculations after Harris et al. (1990) and Seaman and Powell (1990) does vary quite a bit.
  • can we add noise to make LSCV more robust/working?
